China or Taiwan Local Number

In addition to its US or Canada Local Number, every KyLinVoice home phone can also have a "virtual China or Taiwan Local Number". Your friends in the US or Canada can call you by your regular phone number. And your family and friends in China or Taiwan can reach you by dialing this Local Number without paying any international long distance charges through their mobile phones or home phones.

 

Number Porting

You can keep your current local phone number if you subscribe to KyLinVoice service. A porting process normally takes 5-10 working days to complete, some exceptions may occur depending on the carriers and is only available for Cable Modem subscribers.

Note:

• Number porting is available to all Cable Modem subscribers and some DSL subscribers. Usually DSL service is bonded with telephone service, and most DSL companies do not allow their customers to cancel one and keep the other. Please verify with your DSL Company before you submit the telephone transfer application. KyLinVoice is not responsible for any loss due to number transfer.
• During the number transfer process you need to keep your phone service with your current carrier until the number is transferred to KyLinVoice.
• We will provide a temporary number for you to use KyLinVoice service before the number porting is completed.
• The name and address you provided for number porting must be exactly the same as what you provided to your previous carrier that is the Service Address of your number. If you are not sure about the information you provided before, please contact your previous carrier directly. Your number porting may be rejected or delayed if the information you submitted is incorrect.
• You may cancel your phone service with previous carrier after your number is successfully transferred to KyLinVoice, including your long distance carrier, to avoid any additional charges.

 

If you wish to transfer your current phone numbers to KyLinVoice, please fill out KyLinTV Porting Authorization Form (CLICK HERE) email or fax it to KyLinTV, along with a copy of the latest invoice/bill statement from the previous service provider (the invoice or bill statement must include your name and address which are the same as the information on Authorization form).

 

Mobile Access

You can pre-register up to 2 phone numbers (mobile or other phone number than home phone) associated with your account.  While you are not at home, you can call your friends and families through these pre-registered numbers.

In order to make call from pre-registered mobile or other phone, you need to dial the local phone numbers assigned by KyLinVoice first.  Then you may dial the numbers, after it’s verified the phone numbers are associated with your account.  No pin code is required. For Mobile use, you may just easily to save this local numbers assigned by KyLinVoice to your contact list and dial whenever you need.

You can use these pre-registered numbers to dial 7-digit in-account numbers conducting in-account calls to reach your friends and families.  For in-account calls via pre-registered numbers, it's free of charge. Minute usages of in account calls through pre-registered numbers are calculated as part omonthly minutes limites.  For customers subscribing KyLinVoice Plus, pay per-minute rate will be applied if exceed 500 minutes or calls to anyone outside serviced countries

Please note that calls made from mobiles use airtime and may incur charges, depending on your mobile plan, where available.

After the call is connected, please follow the voice instructions and the following dialing instructions:

For any international calls: Dial 011 + Country Code + Phone Number with Area Code, followed by [#] key (i.e. 011-86-10-8686-8686#). Your call will be connected in about 5 to 10 seconds.

Note: If you make calls from registered cell phone, please do not press the [SEND] or [TALK] or [Call] key/button again after you dial the international number. This will result in international call charges from your cell phone provider. KyLinVoice is not responsible for any international call charges from your cell phone provider. Please contact your service provider to block the international calling feature in order to prevent any misdialing.

 

Caller ID

The caller's phone number will show on phones with display capability. You can screen calls to decide whether to take a call or not. It's an excellent way to manage your incoming calls.

*The local numbers will be assigned to account holder only.  Each device rented to account holder’s friend and family will be assigned to one 7-digit in account numbers which will be displayed as caller ID when conduct in-account FREE calls. 

 

Use on international travel

You can take your KyLinVoice phone adaptor with you anywhere in the world, whether it's a short trip or a permanent move. All you need is Broadband Internet connection to connect to your KyLinVoice adaptor with, you will be able to make phone calls as if you are at home.

 

Call Waiting

You can accept a call from a third party while engaging in an active call. The KyLinVoice Phone Adaptor will alert you of the second incoming call by playing a call waiting tone.

To use this function:

• To accept the incoming call while in an active call, press "Flash" or "Hold“.
• Your conversation with the first caller will be put on hold.
• Press "Flash" or "Hold"  to go back to the first caller.

 

Call Hold

You can put your current phone call on hold, having the other party wait on the line.

To use this function:

• During your conversation press "Flash" or "Hold" to place your current phone call on hold.
• Press "Flash" or "Hold" again to return to the conversation.

 

Call Forwarding

By activating this function, your unanswered calls will go to a designated landline or cell number.

To use this function:

 

To activate Call Forwarding-Always: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 90. Key in the number you are forwarding your calls to. Activation will be confirmed with a short announcement.   To activate Call Forwarding-Busy: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 94. Key in the number you are forwarding your calls to. Activation will be confirmed with a short announcement.   To activate Call Forwarding-No Answer: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 92. Key in the number you are forwarding your calls to. Activation will be confirmed with a short announcement.

To deactivate Call Forwarding-Always: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 91. Deactivation will be confirmed with a short announcement.     To deactivate Call Forwarding-Busy: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 95. Deactivation will be confirmed with a short announcement.     To deactivate Call Forwarding-No Answer: Listen for the dial tone, press "*" + 93. Deactivation will be confirmed with a short announcement.

 

Customers will be charged the per min rate based on the plans you have subscribed and our rate table for each call that is forwarded and accepted.  Minutes usages (including, but not be limited to Outbound Call and call forwarding) through all the KyLinVoice Equipment(s) under your account will be merged and charged based on the rate applicable to your account, regardless of where the Additional Equipment locates.

 

Call Forwarding-No Answer and Call Forwarding-Busy can be setup and work together, but call Forwarding-Always will have higher priority that -No Answer and -Busy will no longer eligible to function.

 

3 way calling

By using this feature, 3 parties at 3 different locations can join the same conversation at the same time.

To use this function:

• Dial the phone number.
• After the first party is connected, press "Flash" or "Hold".
• After you get a dial tone, dial the third party's phone number.
• After the third party is connected, press "Flash" or "Hold" again.

Now the 3 of you should all be in the same conversation.

 

Free hardware

Free IP Phone adaptor and optional IP Phone sets are free and can be rented to all KyLinVoice customers, within one time deposit*.  The equipment deposit is one time charge only and it can be refunded when IP Phone adaptor and/or IP Phone set(s) are returned to KyLinVoice within ten (10) days upon termination or cancellation of KyLinVoice service.   It’s totally worry free.

* The deposit is at $50 per IP Phone adaptor or IP phone set, excluding shipping and handling.

 

E-911 emergency dialing service

The safety and security of our customers is of the utmost importance to KyLinVoice. KyLinVoice has the capability to offer 911 Emergency Dialing Services to its customers.  However, our Emergency Dialing Services are VoIP based services, and therefore, are subject to certain limitations and outage factors that are different from traditional 911 accesses. It is important that you read the E-911 section under Terms and Condition, understand and inform all residents and guests of these important limitations.

* The local numbers will be assigned to account holder only.  E911 emergency dialing service is only available to account holder with accurate and updated physical address (excluding PO Box). Neither any KyLinVoice IP adaptors or IP Phones shipped outside US or Canada nor the 7-digit extensions used for in-account FREE calls will perform E911 service or any local emergency dialing services.  KyLinVoice 911 service operates differently than traditional 911.
